In 2019 Central Indiana Community Foundation launched a bold new plan to help create neighborhoods and environments that empower people, change systems that unfairly hold people back, and dismantle systemic racism.

Tatjana was asked to write a piece that embodied the full picture of Indianapolis. They used the opportunity to highlight the parts that they have known and loved. The people in the community that often get overlooked.

Indianapolis is full of a rich and complicated past and present. This poem shows how talented and beautiful the city is because of it’s people.
